SHOTOVER COUNTRY PARK
Set in nearly 300 acres of parkland, Shotover Country Park offers walking trails, bridal paths and an orienteering course. The landscape varies from ancient woods to flowery meadows, marshes, heaths and ponds and supports a wide array of wildlife. A 25 minute drive from The Pointer.
WATERPERRY GARDENS
Waterperry Gardens are home to 8 acres of beautifully landscaped ornamental gardens. There is a formal garden, walled garden, contemporary planting, rose garden and an arboretum. As well as a plant centre and garden shop, there is a gallery and gift shop, museum and tea shop. A 20 minute drive from The Pointer.
RSPB OTMOOR
Otmoor is a haven for wildlife in the heart of Oxfordshire. The visitor trail runs alongside an expansive floodplain grazing marsh, home to wading birds and wildfowl year round. Hedgerows, bustling with warblers and songbirds, and the rustling reedbed add to the experience of being on the "moor". Lapwing, Redshank and Snipe are regular species in the area.
BUCKINGHAMSHIRE RAILWAY CENTRE
Buckinghamshire railway centre at Quainton Road Railway Station is a 25 acre railway museum housing one of the UK’s largest collections of locomotives and rolling stock. With steam train rides, a miniature railway, a circular walk around the site and various rally and festival days throughout the calendar, there is plenty to keep railway enthusiasts happy.
