"Good ingredients, put together with a keen feel for balance. Flavour, rather than fuss; pleasure over presentation"
- Tom Parker Bowles

The Pointer is a multi-award-winning country pub with rooms in the pretty Buckinghamshire village of Brill. We’re just a short amble from the famous windmill on the hill, with breath-taking views and endless country walks right on our doorstep. We’re proud to offer our guests a relaxed dining experience and an ever-evolving menu, driven by what seasonal produce is available to us in our kitchen garden and the neighbouring fields of the Chilton Estate.
Join us for a drink in our comfortable front bar where patrons can while away an hour of two in the company of some excellent beverages, open fires and soft seating. Our wine list champions small producers and family-run vineyards, and we serve an excellent range of local ales including our very own Pointer Pint. Our gin list is extensive and boasts world classics alongside English artisanal brands, while our inventive bar manager also concocts a range of spirits in-house using foraged ingredients for a truly seasonal cocktail list.
We’re passionate about sustainability and we work in close collaboration with neighbouring farmers, gardeners and foragers to serve stunning food that celebrates the very best of the bounty right on our doorstep. Whatever is not grown in our kitchen garden in Ludgershall or reared in the fields and farms of the nearby Chilton Estate is carefully sourced from artisan producers and the finest fishmongers who share our commitment to quality and ethical production.
Pop next door and visit our Butcher’s shop for a varied and seasonal range of meats reared to a consistently high standard. The shop also sells charcuterie and freshly baked bread and pastries as well as a variety of condiments, pies, snacks and kitchen cupboard staples – all sourced from local suppliers and artisanal producers.
"It's one of those rare joints that starts at the very beginning with the farming, and then sees it right through with some properly stunning constructions on the plate."
- Giles Coren
